BIBLICAL PERSPECTIVE OF THE DEVIL

Beloved, rely on the bible for information on the devil, don’t let the old information about the devil or the information that he is spreading about himself affect you. The information from the bible alone gives the true picture. Hebrews 2:14-15speaks of what Jesus has done to the devil. We will look at what the bible tells us about the devil; this will fuel your authority and confidence.

I John 3:8 says, “For this purpose the son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.” If Jesus has done that, the devil should not be defeating the believers. Deception built on the ignorance of people is the major key. Many don’t know the truth about the devil and they think he is still powerful.

Luke 9:1 and Luke 10:17 tells us that it is through the name of Jesus you have the authority over the devil. You must know that you can exercise that authority. Likewise, in Luke 10:18-19, Jesus referred to every born-again person that they have authority over the devil.

From James 4:7, if you can resist him, it means you have authority over him. You must know your position with respect to the devil. God has done something about the devil, it is left for you to use the Name of Jesus and the word of God and the authority you have as a child of God to put the devil in his place. Don’t let the devil exercise any illegal authority in your body

Ephesians 6:10-12, speaks about our relationship to the devil and Ephesians 1:20-23 tells us we are seated with Christ in the same place, far above all principalities and power. So, when dealing with the devil, deal with him as somebody who is beneath you by the reason of death, burial and resurrection of Christ and your union with Him. Because you are born-again, you are in union with Christ and you have authority over the devil.

PRAYER: Lord, I declare in the name of Jesus that the devil has no portion, lot or memorial in all that concerns me in Jesus’ name. Amen.

THE BIBLE DEVIL IS A DEFEATED DEVIL

LUKE 11:14-21 The devil continues to cheat many believers simply because they don’t study the scriptures and understand the biblical truth about him; the biblical devil is a defeated devil. This truth will help you to walk in victory. After Jesus resurrected, the position of the devil relative to our lives changed- He became defeated. Jesus took the legal claim that the devil had over humanity to exercise dominion from him and now every born-again can exercise that same authority over the devil. He is not who he used to be; he’s now a defeated devil. Our text tells us that the devil cannot cast out devils, what the devil can do is to practice the principle of displacement and replacement. Only Jesus can cast out devils and only in His Name can this be done. Nothing else can do that. Before Jesus came, the devil was referred to as a strong man who (armed with all kinds of lie and deception) kept his goods – human beings, health of the people, their wellbeing and destinies, but when ...

This is a dangerous thing to do because man’s alternative charts a new course, which can completely take the individual concerned out of God’s original plan. Also, any such alternative is usually nothing more than just a quick fix compared to God’s permanent solution. Speaking to quick fixes, the age we live in encourages that. We live in an age of instant gratification. Most people are no longer interested in any type of process; whatever they want, they want it now! This is what I term the “Microwave Mentality”. People are so much in a ...
