DEVELOP A SENSE OF DIVINE DESTINY (1)

HEB. 12:1-2, 1COR. 9:24-27

There are a lot of people today that are dabbling into the work of ministry in the kingdom of God while many Christians on the other hand think they are just in church to warm benches or increase the number, no, you are there to be trained in church and to go to the world to fulfill your ministry. Effects of having a sense of divine destiny: 1. It will cause you to govern yourself in order to fulfill that destiny - 1Cor.9:24-25. The sense of destiny brings to bear on your physical life, a control that you can’t just do anything. It may not be sinful, but it is not necessary, it’s not edifying, it’s not expedient, it’s not going to contribute to your fulfillment of destiny. A sense of destiny brings discipline to your life. Joseph went through the basics; that was why God took him through all that he went through in life. He was acquiring the basics in the face of his troubles, so when he became the prime minister, he didn’t fall through pride or any other sin. (1Cor.9:26) Let the sense of divine destiny baptize you. Lack of this understanding caused Gehazi to see his training period as a loss of prestige and punishment, he was looking for a way to take care of himself and he got double portion of Naaman’s leprosy, not only for himself, but for his seed after him that still happens to people today (2 Kings 5:20-27). The period of training is dangerous because people don’t see that the training is actually preparing them for reigning. One thing that follows a clear sense of destiny ruling your life is that you take yourself serious at that level.
